Say Hello to Neil Trisilla, Patch.com's New Ad Manager

Trisilla, who has extensive expertise in video advertising, covers the towns of Plainfield, Romeoville, Shorewood and Minooka-Channahon.

Wondering how you can run an ad on Patch.com? Neil Trisilla knows.

Trisilla’s the new ad salesman for the Plainfield, Romeoville, Shorewood and Minooka-Channahon Patch sites, but he’s not new to the area or the world of advertising.

“I chose to come to Patch because I feel it’s changing the way people not only read the news, but interact with both that news and each other,” Trisilla said. “I believe that advertising on Patch is different than anything else because of the people who go to the site, how long they stay on the site, and the local factor.”

Most recently, he was an Internet marketing consultant for ReachLocal, based in Oak Brook.

“One of the major factors for me choosing to come to Patch wasn't that it's growing fast, thus providing tremendous opportunity,” he said. “It wasn't that they had a two-year head start on companies that are now scrambling to get in the local game.

“My tipping point was the video. I know video. In fact, I presented a business plan to the executives of Careerbuilder.com and the Chicago Tribune about bringing video to the Careerbuilder.com Web site, giving jobseekers a ‘day in the life of a …,’ and that project ended up being launched nationwide to all their customers. So, when I saw the quality of the video Patch could give small, local business owners and the price point at which they were providing it, I jumped onboard as quickly as I could.”

Trisilla has lived in Aurora, right on the border of Plainfield, for 13 years. He and his wife are raising three children, Johnny, 14; Logan, 9; and Madison, 5, and the family often shops in downtown Plainfield and in many of the strip malls that run along Route 59, Route 53 and Weber Road.

He’s a true suburbanite, but one who also relishes the joy of sinking a line into a pond, hoping to hook that big bass.

“I love that I can just drive into subdivisions and fish the ponds I find, never knowing when I'll find the perfect hole,” he said.
