Shots Fired At Car In Downtown Plainfield: Police

Detectives have opened an investigation into the incident that happened Monday afternoon near Union Street and Route 30.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Shots were fired in downtown Plainfield, near Union Street and Route 30, Monday afternoon, according to police.

Officers responded to the downtown Plainfield area at 3:44 p.m. and spoke to several witnesses who corroborated that the shooting involved a gray sedan that was following a white sedan. Police said the driver of the gray sedan got out of the car to fire several shots at the white sedan.

Officials said they believe the white sedan sustained damage, "but we couldn't verify because both vehicles involved in the incident fled the scene."

Detectives were not advised of any injuries caused by the shooting, officials said.
