'Spooktacular' Returns To Downtown Plainfield

PLAINFIELD, IL — Young ghosts and ghouls are invited to the Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce's annual Halloween Spooktacular in downtown Plainfield from 11 am. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27. The event offers trick-or-treating at participating businesses, crafts at the Plainfield Public Library, 15025 S. Illinois St.; free pumpkins, decorating kits, popcorn, raffles and a photo booth at Century 21, 15105 S. James St; and a costume contest at Barvian Realty, 24030 W. Lockport St.

Here's a schedule of other events at the annual Spooktacular:

• 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.: Balloon guy at chamber office, 24109 W. Lockport St.
• 1 to 2:30 p.m.: Balloon guy at C.W. Avery Family YMCA, 15120 Wallin Dr.
• 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.: Hayrack rides, petting zoo and bounce house at the YMCA
• 1 to 2:30 p.m.: Haunted house at the YMCA
