St Mary Immaculate School Has May Crowning
May Crowning St Mary Immaculate School, Plainfield May 12th, Our Lady was Crowned by her Honor Guard

St Mary Immaculate School in Plainfield had it’s May Crowning. Our Lady’s Honor Guard consists of Eighth Grade girls who are chosen by being invited to write an essay telling how Mary has influenced their life. These essays are then read anonymously by Mr. Garvey the Principle and Mrs. Errthum the Assistant Principle. The top essays are chosen. During the crowning ceremony the eighth graders then recited a pledge that is a dedication to Mary. In this pledge they ask Mary to intercede for them and then place themselves in her loving hands,
Also in attendance were the first communicants splendidly dressed in their First Communion outfits. The children sang songs dedicated to Mary. They sang and signed the Hail Mary.
It was wonderful to see all of our parents in attendance. was truly an outward sign of St Mary Immaculate School tradition of honoring Mary.
