St. Paddy's Day St. Mary Immaculate 5K Run

There will also be a 2K run for kids.

From St. Mary Immaculate Parish: On Saturday, March 17th, 2018, the St Mary Immaculate 5K Run will occur in and around Saint Mary Immaculate Parish and School, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield.

The event will begin at 7:15 a.m. with the SMI “Irish For a Day, Spartan for Life” 5K Run. Starting on St. Mary Immaculate property off of Frederick Ave, runners will run south towards Renwick Road. Prior to Renwick Road, the runners will turn around and return northbound on Frederick and around the loop formed by Robert Ave, Benson Ave, Julie Ave and Frederick Ave. Runners will then travel east on Getson Ave to Plainfield Lanes Bowling Alley. After making a loop within the Bowling Alley parking lot, runners will cross Getson and enter Central Elementary School to get to Howard Street. Turning south on Howard, the runners will enter the sidewalk on the north side of Renwick Road. Runners enter Central Elementary School again off of Renwick Road and return to Getson Ave. Travelling west on Getson, runners return for one last lap of the Frederick, Robert, Benson and Julie Ave loop before returning to St. Mary Immaculate and the finish line. Neither Howard Street nor Renwick Road will be closed during the 5K run.

Following the 5K, the SMI 2K kids run will start at approximately 8:00 a.m. The kids run will use the same start/finish line as the 5K. Kids will run east on Getson Ave to Central Elementary School. After making a loop within the school, kids return west on Getson Ave, then turn north on Frederick and around the Robert Ave, Benson Ave and Julie Ave loop to return to St. Mary Immaculate and the finish line.
