Thomas Paul “Tom” Chidester, age 80, U.S. Navy veteran, a resident of Plainfield, IL since 2022, former longtime resident of Chicago and Bartlett, IL, passed away on unexpectedly Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Ascension Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL. He was born on October 22, 1945, in Chicago, IL.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, 4:00-8:00 PM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield, IL.

Services will begin Wednesday, April 1, 10:00 AM from the funeral home and will proceed to a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Rt. 59, Plainfield, IL 60544.

Family and friends will meet Wednesday, 1:00 PM at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016, (847) 298-0450 for graveside services. Everyone will gather at the cemetery office.
