Edward Hospital, in Naperville, IL. He was born in Evansville, Indiana, on June 2, 1940, the son of the late Frank Tindle and Ruby Willis.

Toby found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially watching football alongside his son, creating lasting memories. He also enjoyed spending time playing pool with his neighbors and close friends, Al and Julio, valuing the camaraderie and friendships they shared. An avid fisherman, Toby cherished the peaceful time spent on the water. He was proud of his career as a retired member of the Teamsters and equally proud to have served his country as a United States Air Force veteran, a commitment that reflected his strong sense of duty and dedication.

Toby is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Delores (nee Dodge) Tindle; his

children, Richard Tindle and Kathy (Art) Tindle; grandchildren, Kristyn (Jon) Poulter, Charrissa (John) Hensel, and Collin Tindle; great-grandchildren, Kathryn, Jack, EJ, Kaylee & Xeriah; and his sister, Linda White. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Tindle; and sister, Sharon Sandefur.

Visitation for Toby Gene Tindle will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. Joliet, IL, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. As it was his request, cremation rites will be accorded following services and inurnment will take place at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the Hinsdale Humane Society.
