Twelve D. 202 students earn National Merit “commended” rank

Students recognized for their exceptional academic promise

Twelve District 202 high school seniors have been named “commended” students in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is a nationwide competition for recognition and awards conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).

Although they will not continue in the 2021 competition for National Merit Scholarships, about 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.

Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2021 competition by taking the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
