US 30 Detour Set for Plainfield Widening Project
The detour will go into effect July 11 and last until November.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that the planned detour of U.S. 30 between Renwick Road and Illinois 59 in Plainfield will go into effect as early as this Saturday, July 11. The detour will direct motorists traveling in either direction on U.S. 30 to use Renwick Road and Illinois 59. To access local businesses, a one-way, single lane will allow entry for traffic heading southeast on U.S. 30 from Illinois 59 before exiting the work zone at Collins Drive. The detour will remain in place until late November.
Immediately to the east, U.S. 30 between Renwick Road and Interstate 55 soon will be shifted south so construction can begin on the new westbound lanes. Access to all businesses will be maintained during the project. In April, IDOT started construction on the $21 million reconstruction and widening of U.S. 30 between I-55 and Illinois 59. The project has an anticipated completion date of Summer 2017.
