Werk Force Halts Taproom Service, Switches To Curbside For NYE

Werk Force Brewing said they decided to close the taproom Thursday and Friday in light of increased COVID-19 and seasonal sickness cases.

PLAINFIELD, IL — People who were planning to celebrate the new year at Werk Force Brewing this year are going to have to rethink their plans. The brewery's taproom will be closed to the public Thursday and Friday, and only curbside service will be offered instead.

Rising COVID-19 cases and seasonal sickness are the culprits of the decision, announced on Facebook Wednesday afternoon.

"Staffing the tap room will be difficult and we have made the decision to close the tap room this weekend to help keep our staff, families and patrons healthy," the post reads.

If you're wondering why the curbside pickup extends only two days, it's because the brewery is closed Saturday — New Year's Day — and Sunday.

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, craft beer lovers can place their Werk Force orders online and pick them up at the brewery, located at 14903 S. Center St. Owners are also offering a deal this weekend: people who purchase a full case — meaning six four-packs — can use the code CASEDEAL to get $20 off. The coupon allows for mixing and matching brews, too.
