Where To Eat On Valentine's Day In Plainfield: Readers Respond

PLAINFIELD, IL — Valentine's Day will be here before you know it, but that doesn't mean you have to venture outside of Plainfield to find a romantic spot to take your sweetie. We recently asked Plainfield Patch readers to weigh in on their favorite restaurants to take a date on Valentine's Day.

According to readers, Capri Sogno, which earned the most votes, is the most romantic restaurant in town. La Dolce Vita followed with the second-highest number of votes.

Readers also mentioned Sovereign, Freedom Brothers, and Wine and Cheese Co. as places they would go on a Valentine's Day date. McWethy's Tavern, although located in Romeoville, also got a few nods from Plainfield Patch voters.

One reader, who says the food is great every time they go, commended owners of Capri Sogno for having "always been really great hosts."

"The food is top notch, the service is too," the reader said. "Can't ask for more than that."

Another person, who said Capri's makes "great drinks and tasty food," said they always have a good time when visiting the restaurant.

One reader suggested ordering Pasta alla Mamma and said, "the food was the most authentic Italian taste we had ever had."

"The atmosphere was romantic even when it wasn't Valentine's Day," the person wrote.

La Dolce Vita, 16108 Route 59

One reader said their go-to order at La Dolce Vita includes tiramisu. Another suggested ordering baked clams, while a third said the restaurant's chicken parmesan is delicious.

"After all the Covid issues, we invited friends to meet us for dinner and cocktails," one reader wrote. "We had a wonderful private booth, delicious apps, meal and dessert. The staff is always so friendly and accommodating. Is truly my favorite for a date night."
