Will County Board Member Debbie Kraulidis Must Resign

When Trump supporters attempted to destroy our democratic election process and attacked our US Congress last week Will County Board member, recent Plainfield Township Trustee, Chief of Staff for State Rep. Mark Batinick, and Vice President of Moms for America, Debbie Kraulidis, was with them.

Kraulidis is trying to erase and run from her involvement in this disgrace.

Debbie Kraulidis and her husband, Tim Kraulidis, whose WCB seat she took over at this past November’s election, were in DC appearing in and sharing videos. She repeatedly called January 6th, 2021 a “great day” with “not one problem”, saying she only saw “frustrated patriots” and like them wanted “only legal votes” counted because of the “huge amount of evidence” that “election fraud is rampant”. All lies.

In one clip, Debbie Kraulidis said that the only reason she and her clan didn’t “push all the way” into the Capitol was because it was too crowded! She’s an apologist for all of the bad acts that she claims in the same breath didn’t even happen. Kraulidis spreads the lie that it was “Antifa” and Black Lives Matter who were on the rampage. In one hilarious bit she speaks with awe about the many different groups there, “from pro-lifers to veterans to people that fought in wars” (that’s two) and ends up with “The Vietnamese were here! The Chinese were here!”. (Headline: White Woman Amazed to See Asians In US Capital.)

I don’t think she was drunk. This is just how she talks.

But with five people dead, including one murdered police officer, and people you align with and make excuses for saying they’ll come back on January 19th more heavily armed? It stopped being funny.

Debbie Kraulidis should resign immediately from the Will County Board. And the Will County Board should censure her.

Debbie Kraulidis should be fired immediately by State Representative Mark Batinick (97th District) for whom she works as Chief of Staff (at $27/hr, her rate having increased every year since 2018). Not for nothing, Batinick should stop being a silent coward on any of this. He had plenty to say about BLM protests.

While we’re at it, Plainfield Township Clerk, Michelle Smith, should resign and should be censured by the PT Board of Trustees for publicly promoting and praising Kraulidis’ video and involvement.

And both Debbie and Tim Kraulidis should be drummed out of Plainfield Township Republican Organization, the Will County Republicans, and every other local Republican party organization. People like George Pearson, chairman of the Will County Republican Central Committee, should stop covering for her with shabby lies about her actions. Those organizations should send the message that this behavior and the psychotic anti-American rhetoric it comes with are not endorsed by them. Of course, if those organizations shun the crazies, it’s going to make for some lower meeting attendance. For a while. Those who are left will be honorable people, and they can bring other honorable Republicans (back) in.

It’s not just about last week. Debbie Kraulidis was in DC as part of a poorly masked QAnon sub-group called Moms for America, where she is VP and Director of Production/Live Events, and so has for years worked for racist, anti-American ideas and thugs. And how much is she milking that cow? Her now adult daughter has gone with her to MFA events since she was underage. Does the daughter get paid by MFA? Does Tim Kraulidis get paid when he’s in tow? And where does her being employed in Rep. Batinick’s office fit into this?

MFA and those who side with them are at their base unhappy and frightened that America is becoming less white and more inclusive. A society that treats non-whites and non-straight people as equally valuable and important just disturbs them. They work to destroy our country under the cover of being all about saving children from—ironically—"evil”. MFA is a cluster of malevolent Karens who, like their QAnon brethren, have a creepy, sick obsession with the sexualization of children as a bonding agent, as their locus. Yuck.

That connection is important because Deb Kraulidis is in lock-step with MFA, including their febrile idiocy over the November election, one that’s been confirmed to have been a free and fair. Instead of being proud of that as an American, she lies and denies it simply because Trump didn’t win a second term. That’s it—democracy must be suffocated with lies because her candidate lost an election.

Making matters worse, Kraulidis helped organize the MFA rally that hosted Rep. Mary Miller (IL 15th Congressional District). Miller stood told the assembly that Hitler got one thing right in understanding how the way to get into power and control the people was to get the children. Miller and MFA claim she meant that the political Left was like Hitler. The problem is two-fold. First, don’t quote Hitler to make a point. Secondly, it is equally believable Miller was signaling that the way for MFA to prevail is to model their movement after Hitler’s successful model. In other words: I don’t know what you meant, but I know what you said.

Debbie Kraulidis is not fit for public office. She is part of an organization that supports and spreads all manner of garbage, up to and including the ideology of Hitler. In the image above, as with many others, MFA clearly displays both what they say we should value and be afraid of. They tell us that a fictional threat of the destruction of good families—you know, wink-wink-nudge-nudge, the white Christian ones from the 1950’s—is what should swallow up our lives and make us frightened enough to bow to them, to give control of our children over to them.

Through all of this and more, Debbie Kraulidis has shown she’s unfit for public office and she should get out of our government.
