Will County Community Group Offers $1K Scholarships To Area Students

Residents of Will County who are attending an accredited higher learning institution in 2023 are eligible for one of the scholarships.

WILL COUNTY, IL — Area students have a chance to receive a $1,000 scholarship courtesy of the Will County Center for Community Concerns.

The organization, based out of Joliet, announced Tuesday it's offering a limited number of scholarships to income-eligible students of Will County. The $1,000 scholarships are funded by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity's Community Service Block Grant.

Applications will be available starting Jan. 17 and must be submitted by 3:30 p.m. Feb. 27. Forms can be found online or at the group's office at 2455 Glenwood Ave. in Joliet. Officials noted incomplete applications or any late submissions will not be considered.

A few stipulations are in place to qualify: applicants must live in Will County, meet income regulations, fill out the application in its entirety and attend an accredited higher education institution in the 2023 calendar year.
