Female Victims Found Lying In Roadway With Lacerations In Barricade Incident: Plainfield PD

PLAINFIELD, IL — Two female victims — an adult and a child — were cut by a man before he barricaded himself in a residence Thursday night in the 12600 block of Potomac Drive, Plainfield police said.

Officers conducted a welfare check at the residence after a 911 caller reported hearing a woman screaming. While they were en route, dispatchers advised police that an adult had lacerations to her neck, according to a Friday morning news release.

Police arrived to find the two victims in the roadway in front of the residence, both with lacerations on their bodies, officials said. Officers provided medical care until paramedics arrived and brought them to a local hospital for treatment.

The adult told police the incident began with a verbal argument with a man. The confrontation became physical, and he cut both victims before they fled and he remained inside, according to police.

Officers established a perimeter and attempted to speak to the man, but he didn’t exit the residence until hours later. Paramedics took him to a hospital, and he was later placed in custody.

The investigation remains ongoing. Police have not shared if or what charges will be issued.
