• Northern Illinois Food Bank kicks off Hunger Action Month with call for volunteers (dailyherald.com) — Plano residents can support Northern Illinois Food Bank this month by buying doughnuts at Woody's Apple Orchard, where $1 from each dozen goes to fight hunger. The Food Bank is also seeking volunteers at its regional centers, donations, and advocacy during Hunger Action Month as it serves about 570,000 neighbors monthly across 13 northern Illinois counties.
   

• Cops Are Using Flock to Spy on People for the Crime of Standing Around (theintercept.com) — Police use of Flock surveillance cameras in Plano has been tapped more than 1,200 times to investigate low-level "curfew/loitering/vagrancy" violations, according to records cited here. The report uses Plano's camera network as a window into how departments nationwide may be using this technology to monitor people for minor or vague "suspicious" behavior, raising civil liberties concerns.
