1. Rockford City Market

Rockford City Market returns for the season with local vendors, food, drinks, live music and family-friendly activities in the heart of downtown. The free, rain-or-shine market takes place under the Rockford City Market pavilion and along the surrounding streets.

2. Edgebrook Farmers Market

When: Wednesdays, May 6-Oct. 28, 2026; 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Where: Edgebrook Shops, 1639 N Alpine Rd, Rockford, IL

Edgebrook Farmers Market offers a midweek opportunity to shop local during the growing season. Visitors can browse seasonal produce, free-range meats, flowers, plants, baked goods, honey and other locally made items from area vendors.

3. North End City Market

5. Midsommar Fest

Where: Erlander Home Museum, 404 S 3rd St, Rockford, IL

Hosted by the Swedish Historical Society, Midsommar Fest celebrates Swedish tradition with music, food and community gathering. The annual celebration marks the season with a festive outdoor atmosphere at the Erlander Home Museum.

6. Rockford Juneteenth Celebration

Rockford’s Juneteenth celebration honors the holiday with music, culture and community. The 2026 celebration will feature funk band Cameo, known for hits including “Word Up!” and “Candy,” as part of the city’s long-running Juneteenth tradition.
