Original report

The beach area is closed at Lake Louise after a teenage boy was pulled out of the water in Byron Monday afternoon. WREX reports the boy is suffering life threatening injuries as officials believe he was underwater for five minutes before being pulled out by rescue crews from what Byron Fire says was a restricted area. The news report says the incident happened just after 1 p.m. as people were in the water looking for a person who had gone under water and not come back up.

Emergency responders located and pulled the teen from the water before immediately performing CPR and taking him to a local hospital.

WREX says officials are still investigating how the boy, who was at the lake with his family, got under the water for that long.
