Charter Bus Triple Murder Suspect Turns Himself In: Rockford PD

Raheem King and a 21-year-old woman turned themselves in to police in connection with the assault rifle killings of three people.

ROCKFORD, IL — After nearly five days on the run, the man accused of shooting three people to death aboard a private charter bus in Rockford has turned himself in to police. A woman accused of aiding him also surrendered to authorities.

Rockford police said 22-year-old Raheem King and 21-year-old Lakeacia Kizart, both of Rockford, turned themselves in on Wednesday. King is charged with four counts of first-degree murder, while Kizart is charged with concealing or aiding a fugitive.

Police found the three victims dead inside a private charter limousine-style coach after responding to a report of multiple people shot at around 3:25 a.m. Saturday. The victims were later identified as Matravius Blake, 21; Daijon Sistrunk, 22; and Sean Anderson, 27.

Police described the weapon used in the triple murder as an assault rifle.

According to police, the other passengers fled on foot after the shooting, while the driver remained on the bus and drove to Springfield Avenue south of Auburn, where he called 911 and met with officers.

Police said King and Kizart are both in custody at the Winnebago County Jail.

Authorities haven't offered any potential motive for the killings. "This is an on-going investigation and no further details are available at this time," police said in a statement.
