Girl Hit By Firework In Busy Night For Rockford First Responders

Rockford first responders get hundreds of calls involving fireworks in one night this year.

ROCKFORD, IL — The Rockford Fire Department said the 911 call center received more than 400 calls involving fireworks from 2 p.m. Thursday, July 5 to 2 a.m. Friday, July 6, WREX reported. There were also a number of injuries from fireworks, including an 8-year-old girl who the fire department said was hit in the eye in the 2600 block of Bildahl Street, according to WREX.

Other details of the girl's injuries aren't known at this time.
