Leave Fireworks To The Pros: Rockford Police, Fire

Rockford Police Dept. and Rockford Fire Dept. are warning residents about the health, safety and legal concerns involving fireworks.

ROCKFORD, IL — If you're planning on shooting off fireworks during your July 4 festivities, Rockford Police and Rockford Fire Departments want to remind residents that when it comes to fireworks in Illinois, most are illegal. Rockford police and fire officials say those involved with activities involving illegal fireworks will be investigated and issued citations, as fireworks are threats to health and safety.

According to Rockford police and fire officials, fireworks that are prohibited include bottle rockets, firecrackers, roman candles, sky lanterns, and more.
