Rockford Man Pistol-Whipped During Home Invasion
Police are searching for two men suspected of invading a Rockford man's home before pistol-whipping him and running away.

ROCKFORD — A Rockford man was beaten during a home invasion thursday when an intruder pistol whipped him, RR Star reported, according to police, who also say the victim was able to push the gun away before a shot was fired. The news report says police met the victim at the hospital around 5:15 p.m. where he told them he was home alone at a house in the 1200 block of 12th Street when two men came inside and started pistol-whipping him, as one had a knife and the other had a gun.
RR Star reported that because of a language barrier, the man said he didn't understand the intruders' demands, but was able to push the one intruder's gun away after it was pointed at him, police say.
Although the man wasn't shot, police say he was treated for unspecified, non-life threatening injuries.
