Rockford Public Schools Announce Health Plans
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has advised school districts to plan and prepare for the possible spread of COVID-19.

Rockford Public Schools administrators are working closely with the Winnebago County Health Department to ensure we're ready to respond if the coronavirus disease 2019 – COVID-19 – spreads to our area. There are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our region at this time.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has advised school districts to plan and prepare for the possible spread of COVID-19 – and that's what we're doing. Administrators are reviewing emergency plans, monitoring absences, encouraging good health and hand-washing habits, and custodial staff are paying special attention to commonly touched surfaces while cleaning.

- Washing your hands often with soap and warm water.
- Covering your cough; cough & sneeze into your upper sleeve or a tissue that you throw away.
- Increase cleaning of frequently touched surfaces.
- Staying home if you're sick: If you or someone in your household is not feeling well, stay home to keep others from getting sick.
