Six Rockford Men Arrested In Drug Trafficking Bust

One of the men arrested in the Rockford drug trafficking investigation was caught as a leader of the organization in the Rockford area.

ROCKFORD, IL — Six Rockford men are facing federal drug trafficking charges as a result of an investigation by the Rockford Area Violent Gang Task Force and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Police in the 4400 block of Grinnell Drive in Rockford. WREX reported according to the investigation, Tyjuan Anderson, 35, led a drug trafficking organization in Rockford, that trafficked heroin, crack cocaine and cocaine, and would supply crew members. The news report said five of Anderson's crew were also arrested, according to the investigation, and their names and charges are listed below:

According to the investigation reported by WREX:

  • Christopher Arnold, 33, and Lumont Johnson, 45, obtained drugs from several suppliers and provided them to other members of Anderson's crew.
  • Cleveland Johnson, 38, and David Appleton, 55, were charged with distribution of the drugs in the Rockford area.
  • According to officials, WREX said Justin Hill, 37, was being trained by Anderson on how to run a drug-trafficking business, and was being taught how to manage money and avoid police surveillance.

According to WREX, court hearings will be held in U.S. District Court in Rockford next week.
