The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Early childhood center
To ensure we can reach as many preschoolers as possible to give them a head start.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
As a White Oak Library Trustee, I was appointed to the VVSD, to fill a vacancy. As a result, I have learned the value and needs of having educational platforms that work together to serve the community. My experience will bring value to the board so we can continue to move forward.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)?
N/A
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform:
Firmly committed to protecting your Tax Dollar. Continue to ensure money is spent in the classroom.
If you gain this position, what accomplishment would define your term in office as a success?
I would like to see the continuing rise in achievement scores, for reaching college testing standards.
Please share with voters a story about wisdom gained from a mistake you made in your life or career.
I like to inform the first time home buyers. To pay their house of early, by making one extra payment a year on their 30 year loan. This saves them 7 years of payments. All they need to do is take the tax refund they get every year and use that for the extra payment.
Why should voters trust you?
I have a vested interest in the community and a child who is in the school district.
Share a quote that defines your philosophy:
"The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today"
H. Jackson Brown Jr.
What questions should be asked of current government employees accountable to your board?
It's one of the questions that I think we need to ask our employees on an going basis, how can we be more effective and efficient in educating our children.
Given that we have a limited amount of resources at our disposal, what are their thoughts on what is the most productive way of using them.
I strongly believe that our employees are the strongest resource for innovation. I intend to continue to have an open door policy on hearing their ideas and thoughts so we can work together.
Explain your attitudes toward fiscal policy, government spending and how taxpayer dollars should be handled by your office (or board)?
I am a fiscal conservative. Tax payer dollars should be handled ethically, responsibly, and with full accountability for the students needs.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
As a White Oak Library Trustee I was involved in the renovations and building of the new Library.
The best advice ever shared with me was ...
You can learn something new everyday, if your willing to listen and except change.
