Amazon Hiring 2,000 In Illinois
The new hires will be added at nine different fulfillment centers statewide.
CHICAGO, IL — Amazon is planning to hire 2,000 more full-time workers in Illinois over the next 14 months, a move that will bring its total numbers of employees statewide to around 7,000. Hiring is set to take place at at nine different fulfillments centers statewide, along with Amazon's Chicago corporate office, its bookstore in Lakeview, an AmazonFresh site and a University of Illinois-Chicago campus pickup center, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
Amazon already has numerous fulfillment centers in the Chicago area, including locations in Joliet, Romeoville and Aurora.
The Chicago-area growth is spearheaded by Kathleen Carroll, a Lincolnshire native and head of Amazon recruitment, according to the Sun-Times.
