Amazon holds Official Grand Opening at Romeoville Fulfillment Center
This week Amazon had their official grand opening in Romeoville, with a warm reception by state, county, and village officials alike.
In September, Amazon opened a 750,000 square foot fulfillment center in Romeoville, which employs over 1,000 people. This week, they had their official grand opening, with a warm reception by state, county, and village officials alike. The Grand Opening highlighted all Amazon facilities recently built within Will County.
At a board meeting earlier in the week, Mayor Noak proclaimed June 8, 2017 as Amazon.com Day in Romeoville. “Amazon has had a tremendous impact on not only Romeoville, but the region as well,” said Mayor Noak. “They’ve added hundreds of jobs with competitive pay and great benefits. In addition, they are a great community partner, from getting involved in community events this summer to volunteering their time. We’re thrilled to have them here.”
Amazon.com is the largest internet based retailer in the world by total sales and market capitalization.
