Romeoville Strengthens Victim Assistance Program with New Partnership

The Romeville Police Department and Fire Department have entered into a partnership with the Association for Individual Development (AID) to augment and strengthen the Village’s Victim Service Program.

The Victim Services Program is an essential resource that provides crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, and follow up support to residents experiencing trauma, mental health crises, domestic violence, substance use challenges, and other significant life events.

The partnership with AID ensures a full-time, on-site Victims Services Case Manager dedicated exclusively to Romeoville and supported by a 24/7 on-call response for both police and fire personnel. This partnership strengthens the Village’s ability to assist vulnerable individuals, enhances availability and contacts in obtaining sustained assistance for opioid abuse, and improves long-term outcomes for individuals and families.

“AID will be a tremendous help to our residents in their time of need,” said Mayor Noak.

Funding for the AID partnership comes entirely from the Opioid Settlement Fund, supported by manufacturers, distributors, and pharmacies as part of national litigation related to the opioid epidemic. Learn more about the Association for Individual Development at aidcares.org.
