ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Romeoville Police Department's National Night Out event pulls out all the stops every year.
"Once again, we've 'upped our game' and put together what we believe will be one of the most exciting National Night Out celebrations in the region," Commander Mike O'Connor told Patch.
The free event is set for 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at 1050 Romeo Road.
Not only does the event offer free hot dogs and refreshments, giveaways and emergency vehicle displays, but there is a line-up of live entertainment, too.
The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with a live bat show, followed by several parachuting superheroes making their arrival at 6 p.m., O'Connor said.
The Jesse White Tumblers will also perform at 6:30 p.m., and there will be Taser and K9 demonstrations at 7 p.m.
The evening closes with a National Guard Black Hawk helicopter landing and public tour at 7 p.m. There are also prize raffles throughout the night, including a chance to win brand-new bikes.
"Our last year's event brought in over 2,000 attendees and this year we are hoping for even more," O'Connor said.
