April 4 Election: Early Voting Under Way in Will County

Early voting is under way through election day for the April 4 consolidated election. Here's a look at the hows and whens of early voting and voting by mail in Will County:
Who can vote by mail?
Any qualified registered voter in Will County is eligible to cast a Vote by Mail ballot, according to the Will County Clerk's office. You can request a Vote by Mail ballot online or mail in a printable form to request a ballot. Members of the military, their spouses and dependents, and U.S. citizens temporarily residing outside of the U.S. or whose intent to return is uncertain may submit a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) to receive a Vote by Mail ballot. Voters who have a permanent disability can enroll in the Permanently Disabled Vote by Mail Program and automatically receive a ballot for the next five years.

What is grace period voting?
Grace Period Voting begins March 8 and is for those who were unable to register to vote or change their address prior to the close of registration (28 days prior to an election). Grace period voters must vote on the same day they register.
April 4 election: Important dates
- March 7 – Last day to register to vote in person or by mail
- March 8 – First day of grace period voting
- March 19 – Last day to register to vote online
- March 30 – Last day to request a vote by mail ballot

- Will County Clerk’s Office (already under way)
- Village of Plainfield (Serving the Village of Plainfield and Plainfield Township residents only)
- Village of Romeoville (Serving the Village of Romeoville residents only)
- Fountaindale Public Library (Serving the Village of Bolingbrook and DuPage Township residents only)
- Lockport Township
- Troy Township (Serving Troy Township residents only)
- Wheatland Township
