Cause Of House Fire Under Investigation, No Injuries Reported

The fire caused heat damage to parts of the property but no one was injured, according to the Romeoville Fire Department.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A house fire in Romeoville on Friday caused heat damage to various parts of the property, but no one was injured, said the Romeoville Fire Department.

The department, assisted by the Lockport Protection District, responded to a fire at 409 Camden Ave. When the first Romeoville Fire unit arrived, the fire was visible from the detached garage, according to a statement from the Romeoville Fire Department.

The fire was contained to the garage and the contents within, and it was extinguished. However, there was heat damage to the siding on the house, fence, and the trailer parked in the driveway.

The investigation was conducted by Romeoville investigators, assisted by Lemont.

An alert from the Village of Romeoville earlier on Friday had asked residents to avoid Camden Avenue and Montrose Drive. They can now be used.
