After taking $4,000 in cash, he was tackled as he ran for the door.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A Plainfield man allegedly took a gamble in attempting to rob a Bolingbrook bingo hall, but it was a bet he ultimately lost.
Bolingbrook police initially responded to a call of a suspicious masked man seen exiting a tan vehicle on the shoulder of I-55 SB, Bolingbrook Police Lt. Carter Larry said. The man jumped a fence and was walking toward First Class Bingo at 374 Commons Drive in Bolingbrook.
Patrick G. Daly, 24, of the 16500 block of S. Spangler Rd. in Plainfield, entered the bingo hall and allegedly grabbed around $4,000 in cash from the cashier, Carter said. He was armed with a knife, had his face painted black and was wearing a black stocking cap and winter ski gloves. As he was running out of the hall, he was tackled by a good Samaritan, who held him down with other patrons.
