Bolingbrook Girls, Romeoville Boys Qualify for Cross Country Sectionals
Both schools will advance.

Bolingbrook High School senior Johnathon Cook finished fourth at the Lockport IHSA cross country regional, while Romeoville High School’s boys finished sixth overall to join RHS’ Viviana Diaz and the BHS girls cross country team in qualifying for sectionals.
On the boys’ side, Cook ran the course in 16:35, finishing 31 seconds behind regional champ Peter Johnsrud of Oswego. The highest RHS finisher was sophomore Justin Suits (17:32) who was 28th. Suits, Luis Loza, Mike Samuelson, Ian Irvine, Matt Bush, Carlos Ibanez and David Andrews ran well enough to place RHS 6th at regionals and qualify them for sectionals. BHS’s Bjorn Shroda also qualified for sectionals by finishing 23rd.
The top BHS girls finisher was sophomore Arianna Amill (20:05) who was 12th. Helping the Raiders girls qualify for sectionals were Trianna Rodriguez, Marissa Caputo, Andrea Mercado, Yulissa Izaguirre, Natalia Hernandez and Cassandra Cerpa. RHS’ Diaz qualified 33rd in21:25.
