RHS, BHS Earn Bronze From U.S. News & World Report
The schools made the "Best High Schools" list for 2017.

Both Romeoville and Bolingbrook high schools rank among the top 14 percent of all public high schools in Illinois, and are among the best high schools in the country, according to U.S News and World Report’s 2017 “Best High Schools” rankings released this week. Both Valley View School District 365U high schools received a Bronze Medal from U.S. News, with BHS ranking 92nd in Illinois and RHS coming in at number 93 among 655 Illinois public high schools.
The multi-platform publisher of news and information annually identifies the top-performing public high schools on both statewide and national levels based on a rigorous four-step process.
To receive a “Best Schools” medal, a high school must outperform expectations for high school students throughout the state, factoring in diversity and the percentage of economically disadvantaged students. Graduation rates and college readiness (based on Advanced Placement participation and testing results) are also crucial factors.

Both BHS and RHS were cited in particular for their students’ strong AP course work and AP exam participation rate.
“These medals, issued by one of the most trusted news organizations in the world, are further confirmation that Valley View’s efforts to prepare our children to develop, grow and achieve as productive citizens in a global society are paying off,” said VVSD Superintendent Dr. James A. Mitchem Jr. “We’re proud of every school in this school district, but today we are particularly proud of our two national bronze medal high schools.”
