This week, we caught up with Heather Roose, the artist behind the lens of in Romeoville, to learn more about her skills and her desire to make quality photography affordable.
Romeoville Patch: What types of services do you offer?
Heather Roose: I offer portrait and wedding photography, as well as photography for babies and families. I really enjoy shooting in natural light, so a majority of my photo shoots are done outdoors as opposed to a studio setting, but for newborn photography, I do travel to the homes for photo shoots.

Patch: How did you get started?
Roose: Photography has been a hobby since high school, and shortly after I met my husband, he encouraged me to turn my hobby into a business. I believe strongly that the best photographs often capture people in natural light and in their natural settings, so I try to capture both through my work.

Patch: What area do you serve?
Roose: My studio is based in Romeoville, but I service the entire Chicagoland area.
Patch: Do you have a specialty?
Roose: I do not have a specialty because I enjoy all photography, but I do especially enjoy photographing babies and children as well as weddings.
Patch: What sets you apart from other photographers in the industry?
Roose: I believe photography should be affordable, but it should be high quality as well. I really aim to bring the photojournalistic aspect to my work by catching kids in their element. And I want couples to have beautiful quality wedding photos for a price they can afford.
