Candy, Gum Heist At Romeoville's XPO Logistics Leads To Charges
Romeoville's Landon Allen faces a $500,000 bond after being captured Thursday night.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Three co-defendants were charged this week in Will County Circuit Court with a pair of felonies in connection with two huge thefts of candy and gum that occurred more than a year ago in Romeoville. Court documents show the crimes occurred back on September 18, 2016 and on November 4, 2016 at the XPO Logistics warehouse, 825 Bluff Road. The men accused of committing the high-volume thefts are Landon Allen, 43, 1000 block of Montego Bay Court, Romeoville, Samuel Cano-Santiago, 31, of the 800 block of Joliet's Summit Street and Wardell P. Harrod, 47, of the 400 block of North Central Avenue in Wooddale.
A review of the Will County Adult Detention Facility logs reflects that authorities took Allen into custody on Thursday night. The other two men are not yet in Will County's custody. Allen's bond was set at $500,000.
According to the criminal complaint, Allen, Cano-Santiago and Harrod gained control over property at the XPO Logistics facility in Romeoville. The men are accused of stealing gum and candy, "having a value exceeding $100,000 and not exceeding $500,000," on two separate dates last year.
