Car Hits Transformer Box

A young male driver was bleeding from the hand but appeared otherwise uninjured following the accident during rush hour on Tuesday.

Traffic was backed up on Weber Road near I-55 Tuesday evening after a car struck an electrical box just north of Grand Boulevard near the Remington apartments.

The male driver, who one witness described as a teenager, was bleeding from the hand as he talked to police but did not appear seriously injured.

The driver was reportedly heading north on Weber when his vehicle veered into the grassy area near the Remington apartments and struck the box. He joked to a bystander on the scene that he was “protesting power.”
