Coroner Identifies Truck Driver Found Unresponsive on I-55
Preliminary autopsy results indicate the man died of natural causes, according to the coroner.

The Will County Coroner’s office has identified a man who was pronounced dead after being found unresponsive on southbound I-55 near Route 6 near Channahon.
John J. Dempsey, 61, of Morris, was pronounced dead at around 7 a.m. Wednesday at the Presence St. Joseph Medical Center emergency room, according to the coroner. Dempsey was the driver of a semi-trailer that was found in a ditch on I-55 at around 5:45 a.m.
Preliminary autopsy results indicate that Dempsey died of natural causes, according to the coroner’s office. Coroner Patrick O’Neil told the Herald-News that Dempsey appears to have died of an aneurysm.
