Costume Ball Will Raise Funds for Youth Outreach

Mayor will host annual event at HighPoint Friendship Centre.

After the last of the Halloween candy has been dished out, don’t forget to hang on to that costume.

You can wear it again while helping fund scholarships to let Romeoville youths participate in sports and other activities at the second Mayor’s Costume Ball, set for 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the at HighPoint.

Mayor John Noak will host the gathering to raise money for a Youth Outreach Commmission Scholarship Fund.

“It’s a great reuse for your Halloween costue,” Noak said. “It should be a fun event.”

Tickets are $25 per person or $40 per couple and are available at the Romeoville Recreation Center, 900 W. Romeo Road; ; the Friendship Centre; the and DuCAP, 201 Canterbury Lane, Bolingbrook.

The 21-and-older event will feature beverages provided by vendors including and food from area restaurants.

“It will kind of be like a little ‘Taste of Romeoville,’” Noak said, adding the list of vendors is still being finalized.

The event will include heavy appetizers, a magician, prizes, games, raffles and, of course, a costume contest.
