Crest Hill Man Arrested on Child Porn Charges

A Crest Hill man has been charged with child pornography as part of an ongoing investigation, Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow said Wednesday.

Andrew M. Veselsky, 25, of 1326 Cedarwood Drive, was arrested at his home on Tuesday by investigators from the State’s Attorney’s High Technology Crimes Unit and officers from the Romeoville Police Department.

Investigators from the unit had identified a computer used to download child pornography with an Internet protocol address that led them to the Romeoville home of Veselsky’s parents, state’s attorney’s office spokesman Chuck Pelkie said.

Until recently, Veselky had been living with his parents, according to Pelkie. Investigators executed a search warrant at their home and learned that Veselsky had moved to Crest Hill.

Investigators later executed a search warrant at Veselky’s Crest Hill address. He was arrested without incident, Pelkie said, and computers were seized as part of the investigation.

Veselsky was charged with two counts of dissemination of child pornography, a Class X felony that carries a penalty of six to 30 years in prison upon conviction. Probation is not a sentencing option, according to the state’s attorney’s office. Veselky also was charged with obstruction of justice and two counts of possession of child pornography, a Class 2 felony that carries a penalty of three to seven years in prison upon conviction, authorities said.

Bond for Veselsky was set at $250,000 on Wednesday, according to officials. His next court date is scheduled for Feb. 25.
