DUI, Drugs, Retail Theft: Romeoville Blotter

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Aug. 6

Stephan Nykolajcuyk, 26, of the 600 block of Wild Indigo in Romeoville, was charged with criminal trespass to property. The arrest occurred in the 900 block of Romeo Road.

Aug. 7

A burglary from motor vehicle was reported in the 1200 block of Lakeview Drive. Someone damaged the door handle of a vehicle and took a cell phone valued at $800. Estimated cost to repair the door handle is estimated at $1,000.

Aug. 8

Kenneth Vanus, 53, of the 20900 block of W. Orange Blossom Lane in Plainfield, was charged with driving under the influence and no insurance. The arrest occurred in the 400 block of North Weber.

Aug. 10

Richard Thomas, 40, of the 19000 block of Airport Rd. in Lockport, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, disobeying a traffic sign, resisting an officer and obstructing justice. The arrest occurred in the area of Route 53 and Murphy.

Aug. 13

Flowers McNeal, 27, of the 1500 block of Azalea Circle in Romeoville, was charged with driving under the influence, no insurance, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, disobeying a traffic signal and possession of drug equipment. The arrest occurred in the area of Taylor and Weber.

Aug. 15

Two teen juveniles were arrested for curfew violation in the 1700 block of Tuscany Ln.

Aug. 16

Vercell Moorehead, 18, of the 200 block of Tacoma Ct. in Romeoville, was charged with theft under $500. The arrest occurred in the 2000 block of West Wesalake Parkway.

Aug. 18

Silvia Chavez, 32, of the 400 block of Haller Ave. in Romeoville, was charged with retail theft. The arrest occurred in the 200 block of South Weber Road.

Aug. 19

A theft over $500 was reported in the 900 block of West Crossroads Parkway. Someone took a trailer and a container valued at $5,000 was taken from the parking lot.

Aug. 20

Shawn Andrews, 48, of the 1400 block of Shafer Ave. in Bolingbrook, was charged with retail theft. The arrest occurred in the 400 block of South Weber Road.

Daniel Williams, 57, of the 900 block of State Street in Lemont, was charged with driving while license restricted, no insurance, improper lane use, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to give information and failure to report accident to police. The arrest occurred in the area of Romeo Road and Route 53.

Steven Campbell, 59, of the 700 block of Geneva in Romeoville, was charged with driving under the influence, no insurance and improper backing. The arrest occurred in the area of Geneva and Corona.

Aug. 21

A theft under $500 was reported in the 900 block of Harvard Court. An unattended bicycle with an approximate value of $80 was taken by someone.

Aug. 24

A burglary and theft over $500 was reported in the 700 block of South Weber Road. Someone entered a garage and took a pipe threader and two generators from the location. Total estimated value of the items is $4,580.
