DUI, Retail Theft, Credit Card Fraud: Romeoville Blotter

Arrests and incidents occurred between Aug. 18 and Sept. 6.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Aug. 18

Bethany Browning, 30, of Franklin, was charged with driving under the influence, no insurance and resisting an officer. The arrest occurred in the area of Alexander and Route 53.

Aug. 21

Crystal Chavez, 20, of the 300 block of McKool Ave. in Romeoville, was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol. The arrest occurred in the 600 block of North Independence.

Four juveniles were arrested in the 600 block of North Independence for curfew violation and illegal consumption of alcohol.

Aug. 31

Shannon McKinney, 43, of the 900 block of Harvard Ct. in Romeoville, was charged with possession of drug equipment, improper lane usage, no insurance and failure to signal. The arrest occurred in the area of Grand and Romeo Road.

Burglaries to motor vehicles were reported in the 700 block of Saybrook Ct., 800 block of Harris Dr., 700 block of Arbury Ct., 300 block of Karen, 300 block of Emery and 600 block of Glenhurst Ct. Someone entered vehicles and took purses, a computer, DVDs, iPods and currency from the vehicles.

A retail theft was reported in the 400 block of South Weber Road. An unknown person took two video games valued at $31.28 from the business.

Sept. 1

Anthony Johnson, 35, of the 2900 block of W. 80th St. in Chicago, was charged with driving while license suspended, no insurance and avoid traffic control device. The arrest occurred in the area of Route 53 and 135th Street.

Vincent Caputo, 59, of the 0-100 block of Beacon, was charged with disorderly conduct. The arrest occurred in the 400 block of South Weber Road.

Irwin Laughrey, 55, of the 1600 block of Rose Ln. in Romeoville, was charged with criminal damage to property. The arrest occurred on the 1600 block of Rose Lane.

A burglary to motor vehicle was reported in the 1900 block of Rosehill Ct. Someone rummaged through a vehicle that was parked in the driveway of the residence. It is unknown if anything was taken.

A burglary to motor vehicle was reported in the 600 block of Mendota Lane. Someone took a wallet from a vehicle that was parked in the street. The victim’s credit card was also used later at a business.

Sept. 2

Michelle Williams, 27, of the 5600 block of Murray Drive in Berkeley, was charged with retail theft. The arrest occurred in the 200 block of South Weber.

Sept. 3

A burglary and criminal damage to property were reported in the 19000 block of West Airport Road. Someone damaged two vehicle door locks and took socket sets and several power tools. Estimated cost of the items taken is $2,580.

Sept. 6

Rogello Garcia, 23, of the 100 block of S. Pinecrest Road in Bolingbrook, was charged with no valid driver’s license, no insurance, no valid registration, no rear registration light and three in-state warrants. The arrest occurred in the area of Belmont and Route 53.
