East Side Plans to be Unveiled During Feb. 29 Open House
Event is latest step in planning process.

Residents can get a look at the latest plans for the East Side redevelopment at an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, at , 1050 W. Romeo Rd.
The open house is the latest in a series of meetings as planning has progressed on the project, which will be anchored by the Romeoville Metra station, set to be built in 2014.
2011, residents got to play a role in planning by offering feedback and suggestions at a public workshop. , alternatives for both the East Side and the Metra station were presented during an open house.

Now, community members will get a look at what could be the final plans for the project.
Mayor John Noak stressed that the designs that are unveiled Feb. 29 are a working document.

“It’s a rough outline,” he said. “These documents are always designed to be living documents.”
