UPDATE: Five Candidates Vying for Three Valley View Board of Education Seats

One of three incumbents not seeking re-election.

Editor’s note: The Will County Clerk’s office updated the list of filings just before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, including incumbent Leo Venegas among the candidates.

There will be at least one new face on the Valley View Board of Education come spring.

Filing for the April 7, 2015 consolidated election ended Monday, with one of three incumbents — Rick Gougis — opting not to seek re-election.

“It was a very hard decision,” making the call not to run, Gougis said Tuesday.

According to the Will County Clerk’s office, board president Steven A. Quigley has filed to run again, along with Leonel “Leo” Venegas.

Other candidates include James (JT) Boudouris and Sally (Clemens) Guilbo of Romeoville and Bolingbrook resident Diane Parro.
