The Joliet Junior College Fine Arts Department will present its 33rd Annual Holiday Madrigal Concert, "MadriGala 2010: Something Olde, Something Yule," Friday, Dec. 10.
MadriGala 2010 will feature merry madrigals and carols, pageantry, dance and humor performed by the 27-member JJC Chamber Singers and the Brass Quintet and Jesters.
Between the two halves of the concert, a selection of savory hors d'oeuvres and delightful desserts will be served on the bridge, prepared by the nationally-acclaimed JJC Culinary Arts Department under the supervision of Chef Fred Ferrara.

Philip Spencer, director of choral and vocal music at JJC, will serve as musical director of MadriGala. He is also conductor of the JJC Chamber Singers, the college's auditioned choral ensemble, which will perform a number of traditional madrigals as well as seasonal carols from around the world in several languages.
The JJC Brass Quintet, under the direction of Charles Morgan, JJC director of bands and brass, will provide Renaissance and seasonal instrumental music during the reception. The MadriGala staff also includes Zachary Bloomfield, stage manager and drama director, and Nicki Blowers, technical director.

Reserved seats for this evening of musical and culinary delights are $12. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling the Fine Arts Theatre Box Office at (815) 280-2200.
The deadline for purchasing advance tickets is Dec. 8, with very limited seating available at the door.
