First Baby Born at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox
Lockport residents Jim and Corey Anderson welcomed baby James Xavier on Sunday, making him the first baby born at Silver Cross' new location. Baby James got a few Patch gifts, including a bib and a onesie.

The first baby born at 's new location also became the biggest little Patch fan in the area.
Lockport residents Corey and Jim Anderson welcomed their baby son James Xavier to the world Feb. 26, making him the first newborn at Silver Cross' hospital in New Lenox.
The family received five gift baskets, including one from Patch that provided a baby polo, a onesie, a bib, a water bottle and a tote bag. The Anderson family will also receive a framed copy of this article.

The , and baby James was born at 7:17 p.m. He weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 20 inches long. Nicole Gress, who delivered the baby, is an obstetrics & gynecology physician with Partners in Obstetrics & Women's Health.
“We are excited that our son James' birth will always be a special story, since he has such a unique birthday as he was the first baby born at the new Silver Cross Hospital,” mother Corey said, according to a Silver Cross Hospital news release.

Other gift baskets were donated by the Silver Cross Birthing Center staff, Childerguild, Johnson & Johnson and the Joliet Slammers baseball team. The team also gave the first newborn Slammers baseball tickets for the 2012 season and a night in a private suite.
Corey Anderson said she was excited to have her baby in the new Labor and Deliver Suites at the new hospital.
"The environment is so comfortable. The color of the rooms and furnishings are so soothing, and the nursing care is so great," she said.
"I couldn’t be happier with the experience my baby and I have had here at the new hospital."
