The History of Hampton Park

Share memories and relive a gentler era as long-time residents of historic Hampton Park in Romeoville Illinois talk about their community.

Join us on Sunday-September 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the White Oak Library in Romeoville -- 201 W. Normantown Rd. The Romeoville Area Historical Society will present a program by residents who lived in early Hampton Park. Homes were built in a day. These pioneers coped with gravel streets, a community phone, and no grocery store. They depended on their neighbors. Children had freedom to roam, knowing that the nearest Mom would fix their scrapes or feed them lunch. Birthday parties were community events. The Historical Society will provide a display of pictures and items used at the time.
