Dozens turned out for Memorial Day Ceremony in Romeoville

In case you were unable to attend, Patch is proud to share photos from the ’s Memorial Day service at the at 11 Montrose Drive.

A large tent set up on the grounds was filled to capacity with dozens of patriots who turned out to participate in the event, which featured a moment of silence in honor of past, present, and fallen men and women who have fought or are fighting for our country, as well as patriotic music performed by the Firefighters Highland Guard of Naperville pipes and drums band and the Romeoville High School Band.

Mayor John Noak welcomed guests to the ceremony, and Pastor Dennis Taylor of lead the opening and closing prayers. Also speaking at the event were Rep. Dan Lipinski of the 3rd Congressional District and Dan Moffett of the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad.

Members of the Romeoville High School Marine Corps Jr. ROTC Color Guard and Grand Haven Veterans Club performed the posting of the colors and representatives of the American Legion Post 52 and Women’s Auxiliary, Eagle Social Club, Grand Haven Veterans Club, Hampton Park Social Athletic Club, Romeoville Area Historical Society, Romeoville Lions Club, Romeoville Veterans Commission and Village of Romeoville participated in a ceremonial presentation of wreaths.
