ROMEOVILLE, IL — Construction on the Interstate 55 and Weber Road diverging diamond interchange continues, and is set to wrap up in early 2022, according to the Village of Romeoville.
The new frontage road connecting northbound Weber Road to the businesses on the southeast corner of Weber and Normantown roads is also now open to traffic, the Village said.

The project started in 2018, and when it is finished, it will add a third lane to each direction of Weber Road between 135th Street and 119th Street with traffic signals, new lighting, improved drainage and a barrier median.
According to a Nov. 18 update from the Village, work in the median area has now started. Work includes: placement of topsoil, seed, blanket and sod; installation of traffic signal handholes, curb and median pouring, traffic signal foundations installed at Remington Boulevard, and the excavation of a pond at the northwest ramp.
