Investigation Under Way After Romeoville Teen's Neck Cut By Rope
No charges have been filed in the case.

Romeoville police said they’ve turned the case over to the Will County Sheriff’s Office after a 13-year-old boy’s neck was cut by a rope while he rode his bike.
The teenager was riding his bike through backyards in the 400 block of Maggie Lane at about 5:42 p.m. Tuesday he collided with a cord that was stretched between a fence and an electrical box, police said.
Fox Chicago reported that the boy’s throat was cut and he was knocked to the ground. The incident caused a cut in 13-year-old Sergio Perez’ neck, and and the teen told the network, “Suddenly I felt a pull on my neck because I think I knew that there was going to be a rope on the floor, but I didn’t know it was going to be up on the fence.”
