'It Was a Shameful Act,' Judge Tells Bolingbrook Man Who Sold Fake Blackhawks Tickets
Edgar I. Kim pleaded guilty to one count of forgery on Monday, angering hockey fan judge.

A Bolingbrook man accused of selling phony Blackhawks tickets got a scolding from a DuPage County judge Monday as he pleaded guilty to one count of forgery.
Edgar I. Kim was arrested in May and charged with six counts of forgery after allegedly selling fake tickets to three hockey fans on Craigslist.
To avoid jail time, Kim pleaded guilty to one count of forgery, the Daily Herald reported. In that case, the victim arranged to pay $250 for one ticket to the Dec. 27, 2013 game. Kim reportedly met with the victim in unincorporated DuPage County a day before the game and handed over the fake ticket. It wasn’t until the victim arrived at the United Center that he learned he had bought a fake, the Daily Herald reported.

Judge John Kinsella, who told Kim to write apology letters to his victims, said he personally has spent a lot of money on Blackhawks games, and would be upset if someone sold him fake tickets.
“I hope you feel some sense of shame,” the judge said. “It was a shameful act.”
